1 day Butoh Workshop “LUMINAL DANCE” 

LUMINAL DANCE is a term for movement practice, inspired by the Butoh, in which we will immerse ourselves in the subconscious in order to search for unique movement and dance.  

Luminal is our hidden and inner being, a personal infinite universe. Deep within this universe, characters and archetypes unique to each being that carries them are hidden. From them, we learn wisdom, secrets, and a special dance and movement. Only when we calm our minds and turn off the false ego are we capable of hearing the subtle messages and learning the Luminal dance. When we look deep into the hidden and dark parts of our soul, time and space disappear, and only the movement of life continues. Luminal is an infinite source of inspiration, knowledge, wisdom, and creativity.

By focusing on the subconscious and listening to the subtle impulses hidden in the depths of the soul, only then are we ready to experience the true Butoh experience.
In this workshop, we will explore the possibilities of developing movement through the exploration of the inner and subconscious, and how subtle impulses influence movement.

The basis of the workshop is Butoh dance, focused on the phenomenon of the inner, hidden, and subconscious. We will explore various unique Butoh exercises constructed by the workshop mentor. 

This workshop is open to everybody: professional performers like actors and dancers and also for those who are not experienced in Butoh or performing art. There is no age, gender, disability or any other limitation. 

We welcome all who are interested in BUTOH and experimental dance practice.
